WhatsApp Reminders · A RevisitPlus module
Patients hear about their next follow-up where they already read their messages
WhatsApp Reminders in RevisitPlus send appointment reminders, digital prescriptions, follow-up notices, scheme follow-ups and payment receipts to patients on WhatsApp, through the WhatsApp Business API. Messages go out from the clinic's own records: the follow-up date the doctor set, the prescription the doctor wrote, the payment reception took. Nobody types them by hand. WhatsApp message charges are billed at cost.
The problem
The problem this solves
Dr. Kulkarni writes "review after 21 days" on the prescription. Mrs. Deshpande folds it into her bag.
Three weeks later she is busy, the paper is somewhere at home, and the date has gone. Nobody at the clinic calls, because the receptionist at Hadapsar has forty other patients today and no list of who was due. A month passes. Then two. She has not decided to stop treatment. She simply stopped.
Some clinics try to fix this with a receptionist sending WhatsApp messages from the clinic phone, one at a time, in the gaps between registrations. It works for a week. Then the morning rush wins.
This is the follow-up leak. Homeopathy works over months, and one missed follow-up quietly becomes a patient who stopped coming.
How it works in RevisitPlus
- 1
The doctor sets the follow-up date, the reminder follows from it
When the doctor sets the next follow-up date on the Doctor Dashboard, that date is what the reminder uses. Reception does not copy it anywhere. If the doctor reschedules, the reminder uses the new date.
What this gets you: the patient is reminded of the date the doctor actually set.
- 2
Appointment reminders before the visit
Before the appointment, the patient gets a WhatsApp message with the date, time, branch and doctor. The timing and wording are agreed with you during onboarding.
What this gets you: fewer patients who "forgot it was today".
- 3
Digital prescriptions after the consultation
The prescription the doctor writes in RevisitPlus can go to the patient on WhatsApp. The patient has it on the phone the next time they need it, including when they walk into another branch.
What this gets you: no more "I lost the paper, what was I taking?"
- 4
Follow-up notices when a visit is missed
When a follow-up date passes without a visit, the patient shows up as missed on the Doctor Dashboard and in the follow-up list the same day. A follow-up notice can go to the patient on WhatsApp, and reception calls the ones who need a call. Patients on a treatment scheme also get scheme follow-up messages, sent on the follow-up schedule configured for their scheme. See treatment schemes
What this gets you: a missed visit is noticed in days, not at the next scheme review.
- 5
Receipts after payment
When reception records a payment, the receipt goes to the patient on WhatsApp.
What this gets you: no printer queue and no requests for old receipts.
- 6
Sent through the WhatsApp Business API
Messages are sent through the WhatsApp Business API, which is Meta's official route for businesses sending messages at volume. They go from the clinic's own business number, verified on the API, so patients see the clinic's name. We set up the connection and the message templates during onboarding. Business-initiated messages on WhatsApp use templates that Meta approves before they can be sent, so we prepare that wording with you.
What this gets you: messages from your clinic's name, sent the way WhatsApp permits, not from a receptionist's personal phone.
Who uses it
Doctor
Sets the follow-up date and writes the prescription. Both reach the patient without the doctor sending anything.
Reception
Stops typing reminders by hand. Spends the time calling the patients whose follow-up was missed.
Owner
Sees missed and kept follow-ups by branch, and decides which messages the clinic sends and when.
